The purpose of the gun club is to organize shooting sports among its members and citizens of the Hudson Valley, New York region; to promote education to the African American gun club members and encouragement for organized rifle, pistol and shotgun sports; to encourage good citizenship, good sportsmanship, honesty, self-discipline, team play, community service, and humanitarian services; to improve the safe handling and proper care of firearms; to promote marksmanship and competitive shooting and to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America, with special emphasis placed upon those rights listed in the Second Amendment for all Black firearms owners.
Our gun club focuses on encouraging knowledge of firearm safety. While having a firearm readily available can have its advantages in the case of an emergency, it's important to take the necessary safety measures to reduce the risk of having it used for any other purpose than to defend your life or the life of a loved one.
We are a Pro-2nd Amendment Club. We encourage the media to normalize gun ownership for people of color and black firearms owners instead of criminalizing it. As an african american gun club we are responsible gun owners and believe that every law abiding citizen has the right to bear arms should they choose.
Many family focused events are planned including matches that can be fun social events to spend time with people with similar mindset and interests whether you just want to hang with new friends or battle for wins in good-natured rivalries.
We are glad to have chosen to start a NAAGA chapter in the Hudson Valley, NY area. We join the efforts of more than 100 NAAGA chapters across the country whose goal is to educate and train members of the African American community in the safe handling and proper care of firearms and in the use of firearms for self defense and defense of family.
NAAGA has a national membership of more than 30,000 members, growing rapidly every day. Our African American gun club is proud to be part of this collective of black firearms owners from all over the nation.
